Healthy Hints

Tea Tea Tea

Soon after waking, drink a large glass of warm water followed by a herbal tea such as dandelion, fennel, yarrow etc. You will find a large range of loose leaf teas in jars at your local health food shop. They are super cheap when you buy this way, and you can grab a small amount to see if you like it. Remember, herbal teas have medicinal properties, so while they may not be the double choc frappucino Starbucks makes, you will feel ten times better from having this!
Wait about 45 minutes to an hour before having breakfast, and if time is an issue, boil some eggs the night before and you have the perfect brekkie to take to work with you!

The best way to become enthusiastic about herbal teas it to try out a few. Take note of the way they make you feel, and don't be afraid to blend a few together to make your own little concoction. It's always nice to have a great cup to drink out of too!! Check out T2's range of tea accessories at www.t2tea.com

Happy tea drinking!

Healthy Snacks

The internet has an endless supply of recipes and ideas that encourage you to prepare fresh and healthy snacks in very little time. We could all do with some inspiration at times and it is helpful to have some 'go-to sites' for ideas.

I have found the wholefoods website to be great for me. They have mounds of recipes, and it's all using super fresh ingredients and minimal packages foods. The only downside is it's American, hence our produce is not often in season when there's is.

On top of this, there are some incredible food blogs out there. My faves are Kalyns Kitchen, Gluten Free Goddess and Meghan Telpner's Food Blog.

Have a look for yourself and see what takes your fancy. At least this way you know your going to find something healthy AND yummy!! Encourage yourself to prepare healthy snacks to take with you to work/school, involve the kids and everyone's a winner!
